The first thing you should know if you were raped or sexually assaulted is that it was not your fault.

This site provides crisis information and research on rape and sexual assault. The menu has a listing of covered topics here. Do you need help now? In the USA you can call the National Sexual Assault Hotline, operated by RAINN, 24 hours a day at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673). You may also use the RAINN directory or the hotlines page. To call a hotline in the UK or internationally just look up the local rape crisis center on the international page and dial the hotline direct. Feel free to request to speak to a person of your gender. RAINN also hosts an online crisis counseling service. If you are reporting an assault to the police please call a crisis center and ask for a referral to a victim's advocate first. Message boards are recommended as a good first step if you are not ready to talk.

Other topics covered are emergency information on self injury, suicide and reaching out. For information on rape trauma syndrome, PTSD, date rape drugs and other related topics scroll down. This site also provides research, the effects of rape and diversity information. (Espanol)
